My summer holidays

 Well,

my name is Gulmira. I will be 16 this year and I am in the eleventh form now. I

live in the village Korgalzhyn, which is in the southern part of Astana.

I was born to the family of

ordinary people. My father works as a driver in the famous Korgalzhyn State

Nature Reserve had been included into the list of the UNESCO as a Biosphere

Reserve. It stands for an  ecosystem with plants and animals of unusual scientific and natural interest. It is a label given by UNESCO to help  protect

this site in order  to promote management, research and education in ecosystem conservation in 1999.  And my ELT did a lot to promote this project in

Los Angeles for the 'sustainable use of natural resources' in our region.

Biosphere reserve and its staff  have

been exchanging knowledge and experiences on

new ideas for sustainable development.

As for my mother, she works   in the administrative office. I have got a

grandfather and a grandmother. My elder sister is a student. Akbota is the

youngest in my family. I love my family. I will never stop saying we are a

happy family. We are interested in different things but we get along with quite

well. The common thing with all of us is leisure. Having

learnt about the competition from my teacher I decided to try my best, and I

have chosen the theme “My summer holidays”.

So I am going to tell you about the best time that I

had spent.

In my opinion, all children who live in this world

like summer. Now the question is: why is it so that all children like summer,

rather than other seasons? Yes, summer is the most beautiful, and the funniest

season. And the main reason is: it is time for Holidays; you will have a lot of

free time for resting. It is a great pleasure to have a rest after a whole year

of hard work or study. I hope you will agree with me. In general, a lot of

people are crazy about travelling and feel great visiting new places, getting

more impressions and knowledge about the places they visit.

As for me, I like to spend time with friends. In my

little motherland nature is wonderful in summer. On weekends we like to spend

time outdoors, it’s a great opportunity to admire the beauty of nature,

especially in my region when the tulips bloom.  We can run on the grass after rains, breath

fresh air, and nice smell of tulips. I like to go on a picnic. The advantages

are great. We have a bite without observing table manners, can play interesting

games. The main emphasis is that I like to chat with friends around the

campfire. As most teenagers we enjoy spending time together, we needn’t to wear

a uniform, we feel free, get pleasure of wearing our street, or sport clothes

such as jeans, T-shirts, caps, head-bands. The more I say, it doesn’t make us

spend much money. But my little sister thinks otherwise. It’s OK. For the

reason that, each person has right what to do and to think. She likes to visit

other countries, cities, to learn the history of different countries, cities and

to see people. For example, she thinks if she would go to London she would have

seen the British Museum, or visited the Globe Theatre.

Let’s come back to my summer adventures then. I spent the

summer very well. I visited the main cities of our enormous country such as:

Karaganda, Balkhash that I hadn’t visited before.

 Being in the

region of Karaganda I succeeded to watch the unique saxaul bush with its soft flake

- like leaves.

The second thing, I was greatly impressed by was the

magic scenery of the Balkhash Lake, and, of course, time spent with my

relatives and new friends at the shores of the lake.

The most important thing I had been admired this summer

and the best for my country was the summer Olympic Games that took place in Rio.

The games have brought Kazakhstan 3-gold, 5-silver, 9-bronze medals, the country

has come to the 22nd place in the medal standings.

To say truly, as any citizen and resident of peace

loving country, dedicated to the ideals of freedom, I am proud of the best

sportsmen of my country who could demonstrate will and strength as if  leopard or eagle – the national symbols of  Kazakh people.

Holidays have passed but I still remember all fun. I

hope I will have more chance to enjoy time in further.
